  1. "I thought I was so savvy regards not getting caught in internet scams but I think I've been 'hit' without thinking! Recently, whilst at lunch at work and looking at facebook, I saw an 'ad' for a trial to try Collagen Serum. I followed a link and it took me to a page which looked just like the Daily Mail website. The recommendations from women who'd tried the product were very good. At a cost of about 4.50 each for two different trial-sized serums I thought, "What the hell?!" and paid by debit card to see what they were like. That was at the beginning of January"

  4. "In Dec 10, I clicked on their website and there was a free sample offered and only postage to be paid of £9, which I gave my credit card details and the deducted £96…I informed my bank, only to have another £96 deducted by them on the 10 January which has once again made me go over my limit and incur a £12.99 bank charge- please can you help or advise. I have asked my bank to cancel my card and re-issue even if it means to change my account number – I don’t care what they do – I just don’t have the money for this, and some creep is just getting rich and sending us nothing for the money!!!
    Thanks

  5. "On the 30th August 2010 I ordered a free trial bottle of anti-aging serum from http://anti-agingstore.com/ at £1.93 for postage using my Visa credit card which was charged the same day with Euro 2.42 from "CML*FACESERUM-PCS.COM". On investigation, I have found the website to be operated by Colorado Health and Beauty Products LLC of 1035 Pearl Street, Boulder, Colorado, 80302, USA who additionally operate from 2210 E 26th Ave #100, Aurora, Colorado, 80019, USA. the company additionally operates the subsequent websites: http://purcollagen.com/ http://www.anti-ageingstore.com http://www.anti-ageingstore.co.uk http://www.faceserum-pcs.com/ On 9th September 2010 I received a packet containing a broken bottle of serum. I emailed this company on the 10th September 2010 telling them the bottle was damaged, I was dissatisfied with the product and did not want anything further from them. As I received the goods on the 9th September, one presumes the trial started on that day & ends on 23rd September. However my visa card was charged Euros 108.94 by "CML*PURCOLLAGEN.COM", just 2 days "

  3. you can write to your bank and ask them to dispute the transactions, tell them how you were duped into taking up this offer, give them all the details, the address of the website that has the offer, the details of what they said to you and how you feel they scammed you. i dont know how we are going to stop these kinds of scams apart from just informing people. we are trying to beat them on the search engines so that when people type in 'anti-agingstore' then they will see this website first and read about what a nasty company they are. hopefully this will have an effect on their sales and prevent others from being scammed. thankyou for your input and taking part in stopping this rogue company.

  4. I realised this was a scam within hours of ordering the "free" trial, and cancelled my credit card. I rang the Anti Aging store to cancel the order and was told it had already been sent out. (The date on the packing note that eventually came with the order proved this was not true.) However they gave me a cancellation no. and returns no. to return the product. The serum arrived ten days later, I returned it immediately by recorded delivery which (just) ensured it arrived back at the depot within 14 days of the "trial" starting. So I had in fact complied with the Terms and Conditions and should not have been billed for anything but the £3.95 p&p. However, when I rang my bank to check, they told me the company had still attempted to take a much larger amount from my (cancelled) card. Fortunately the payment was declined by Master Card, who I believe are aware of the company's underhand dealings. This "trial" is a complete scam since the 14 days begin as soon as you place the order but the product can take two weeks to arrive. It is impossible to comply with the Terms and Conditions and actually trial the product. I would advise anyone who has ordered this "trial" to contact your bank immediately, explain the situation and cancel your card. Don't wait to see if they take your money - they certainly will!!

  5. Also caught out by this scam by completing a survey supposedly on the bbc website. Was promised a free gift of anti-aging cream, just pay postage and packing £2.97.A few days later received an e-mail confirming order had been dispatched. On reading the small print at the bottom of the e-mail I noticed that after 14 days they would debit £96 odd from my credit card and thereafter every month.Rang the company to cancel the order and they said they couldn't cancel it as it had already been sent out.Rang my bank to cancel my credit card, the bank issued me a new card. After reading comments on the net today I rang the credit card company today and was informed the company had tried four times to debit £96. odd from my card that had been cancelled. I think myself lucky that I cancelled my card the day before they tried to take a payment.

  6. I'm another one caught by this maddening scam. A lunch break gone wrong, cant believe i ordered the £3.99 free trial - 'just to see what it was like'. Next thing recevied a shipping notice that stated the terms and that instead od £3.99 the amount had gone up to £96.35 I emialed immediately twice to cancel the order, no reply! The product arrived, i followed their proceedures as advised on the shippig document. After holding for 15mins, i eventually got through and surprise surprise, there was a problem with their systems and they couldnt get me the Returns Auth number. after arguing for 30 mins ( to a number in colorado!!) they put the phone down on me. i eventually recevied the RMA# on 5th FEb, but by this point, they had already deducted 2 amounts from my credit card for £31.97 and £96.35. The credit card company have been informed, but i have to fill in a letter to them so they can try to recover the 2 debits. They have advise that if any further paymenents are debited, they will credit it back as i have already placed a dispute with the company. i fear i will never see the £128.32 again!

This "trial" is a complete scam since the 14 days begin as soon as you place the order but the product can take two weeks to arrive. It is impossible to comply with the Terms and Conditions and actually trial the product. At no point when you order are you aware that you are signing up for anything other than a free trial. I would advise anyone who has ordered this "trial" to contact your bank immediately, explain the situation and have your bank card cancelled or with credit cards, you need to advise them as early as possible to make sure you are covererd by them to get a full refund on your card.
i'v never been caught by a scam before and cant believe how easy it was for them to take money.

  7. i requested a free trial from this companypaid them postage, never received the free sample instead i got two items that i never oreder, the took £31.97 from my visa debit car on the 25th Jan 2011 then £96.35 on the 10th Feb 2011 at 06.03 in the morning, when i phone the company i was told i was being rude and the man who i was speaking to would not give me his name, this company should be avoided at all cost, they just steal money from your account....

  8. I have also been scammed by this company, I did check the terms and conditions on the website but it just gave me an error link so I just thought I was paying for P & P, they debited my card £96.35 before the product even arrived. I returned it the next day with the correct documentation, recorded delivery, signed for,and they still say it hasn't arrived, if you contact the customer service helpline they are rude and abusive then they hang up. I have been advised by my bank to start a dispute with visa but I have to wait the 30 days to see if they refund my money, they also advised me to lodge a complaint with the american equevilent of our OFT, they have a section on companies that operate this type of scam and a very easy to use complaints form. Just make sure you have all the details dates amounts etc. when you start the process, it dosen't matter that you live outside the US, they want to know about this. Good luck to everybody in getting their refunds. Make a big fuss, bbc watchdog the lot. I am.

  9. Now really, I have to disagree with all of you. I have purchased MANY things in my life time where they subscribed me to recurring billing and I received what I expected along the way. These types of offers are transparent at best and no you don't have to contest it with your back to cancel, you just cancel with the company before you get charged.

What really gets me is that rather than taking ANY sort of personal responsibility, you idiots whine like little girls. I don't know about you guys, but I even read those damned 60 page terms and conditions from company's like Apple, Google, and Amazon. I wonder what you little b*tches would say if you saw the fine print on the lack of privacy in those agreements you signed, much worse than giving up about $100 and actually getting a product for it.

  10. in reply to the above comment by "anonymous" you sound very much like the idiot woman my mother dealt with on the phone your one little comment is not going to make a difference when there are hundreds of people being conned by the company you are clearly working and shilling for. And calling someones mother a little bitch is not something you want to make a habit of sweatheart your lucky you are half way across the world.

  11. I've had the same experience as all the other people BUT on Feb.11th I got a refund in two parts??!! The bank can't trace the sender.I contacted:Rip Off Britain,Trading Standards,The Sunday Mail...who as it turns out haven't got back to me.I wrote 2 letters(recorded delivery) to their UK address, telling them I had contacted the National Press and the BBC.Returning the actual package cost me £5.50.I phoned the Halifax today and the person I spoke to,commended me for my perseverence.PS.I hope "Anonymous"burns in hell SOON!

  13. I have just had £96.35 taken from my account. reported to bank they tell me that I may not be able to stop this. I have reported my account as unsafe and details stolen, because I consider it to be so. I have not knowingly authorised this amount so I consider it theft. They have said that I have to give the company seven days to respond and they will then take it further if I have no satisfaction. I cannot beleive that this company can legally operate in such an underhanded manner, and we as consumers can do nothing to stop them. I buy a lot of goods on line mostly because I am busy working and have little time, I have never come across this before. Sadly it makes you think twice about buying goods on line, which can only damage ligitimate businesses.

  16. to Anonymouss, you sound like one of their call centre staff, this site is for people who have been genuinely ripped off by a scamming company. you make judgements on other peoples experience, which is very naieve of you, you appear very nasty - how much did the anti agingstore pay you? because if you make comments like that for free i feel sorry for you, you must live in hell with a mind like that. i pity you for being so bitter. try meditation, that really helps, yoga too, makes you feel inner peace and therefore you will have no need to defend these nasty money grabbing organisations. i hope your words dont come back and bite you, i hope one day you arent in our position, because i dont think you could handle it as well as we have.

  18. to all those who comment and have been scammed - this company is known about to the banks and the credit card companies.

points to put in your letters to the visa disputes department at your bank or your credit card -

the offer was a 'free' trial,'free' means 'without payment'

the terms and conditions when clicked on brought up an error page or wasnt really noticeable.

the items arrived 10 days after ordering, when did yours arrive? if you only have 14 days to try and return then these terms and condtions are unrealistic.

    their staff are very unhelpful.

tell your bank or credit card company everything.

    ReplyDelete
  19. also it would be a good idea if people could tell us about any responses they get from their banks or credit cards and if anyone gets a refund.

  20. Basically the same story here...but I did call to cancel before the 14 days as I still hadn't even received the product to try. Was given a cancelation number and a tracking number for the free trial shipment that I hadn't received. Then I found the $98 charge on my visa that was posted 3 days after I cancelled. Got the return auth but still haven't received the product so I'm now screwed because I don't have the product to return to get a refund and It's my responsibility to now find the missing shipment. The cust service people are very rude and insulting.

  24. I clicked on an advertisement on Facebook last Friday. The advertisement shows a women waring a mud
    facemask with the Heading:
    Dermatologists Hate Her.
    freeskincare.net
It then goes on to state
"Local mum reveils £8.00 trick to erase wrinkles. Shocking results exposed"

When you click on the link it takes you to a webpage called consumerproductsdaily.co.uk

It offers a free trial for Pure Collagen and Radialabs anti wrinkle creams. They were not from the Anti AgingStore but the scam seems the same.

  25. I too have been scammed by this company. They took my £2.97 postage on Jan 18th, when I applied for the "Free Trial" of the Pure Collagen serum. Literally 5 mins after I applied for the trial I started having doubts so immediately called the Anti-Aging Store & spoke to an employee & told her I had changed my mind & wished to cancel. She told me that was impossible as the item had already been shipped .....5 MINUTES AFTER PRESSING "SEND" !!!
I told her that was ridiculous but she insisted that it was true....the item was actually shipped on the 24th Jan (stated on the packaging), I emailed them to have my cancellation request in writing. i also called them for my RMA no. & returned the item to them (at a cost of £5.50). I now have proof that it was delivered to them although no doubt they will try to deny that as they have with others. They took £96.35 from my card on 1st Feb (just 7 days after shipping) & I have just looked at my recent transactions to find they have taken ANOTHER £96.35 from my card on the 3rd March. My card company is involved & want me to send them the terms & conditions of the Anti-Aging Store but I am now unable to log in to their site...I've obviously, I assume, been blocked because I've had the nerve to complain & cancel etc. I am absolutely blazing mad just as all of you must be. I can't understand why my card co. hasn't already stopped my card to prevent this 2nd amount being taken & also I don't understand how these fraudsters get away with this. Grrrrrr !!

  28. hi,
i to have fallen victim to this scam!
i saw the ad on facebook for the 14 day free trial for the collagen serum, i received it on 31/1/11 and on the 1/2/11 they took 96.35 from my account! i changed my card number but they still managed to take a further 96.35 out my acc on the 4/3/11! i had returned the serum on 2/2/11 recorded delivery and they received it at their uk shipping address on 7/2/11!! i have now contacted the fraud dept and reported it to the police, the fraud team are sending me out a form to which i will fill in and send back, they will then reinburse me for one transaction and charge back the company to which this will hopefully put a stop to this scam, altho i have been told it is not gauranteed it will stop them taking money out my account. because it is my debit card (how silly of me putting those details in the computer) and its harder to stop them. i will see what happens with the fraud team, but i feel i have no option really but to close down my account and bank else where. the bank said even if i close this acc and open a new one with them they would still be able to access my account!!!!! im so angry that this kind of thing happens!!! i was also informed that they are under investigation by the trading standards!!!

  29. Well, I too have been scammed! virtually the same as others, free trial serum, I received two, saw the 14 day limit so posted back same day recorded post but they took £120 from my bank. Told me there is a delay of 4-5 weeks before returning my money. I waited 5 weeks and rang - surprise, there isn't any note of them receiving it back so I now have a) number of recorded delivery and b)signature and date it was received there ie 31/1 but they still took £62 on 11 February. I really want to see these crooks roast so will ring them tomorrow (dont hold out much hope)and also my bank. They are running a right scam and must be milking us of thousands if not millions

  30. I had no problems getting my refund. I clearly did not read their so called terms and conditions like the rest of you. I called them during the day and was rudely spoken to. Well I decided to file a chargeback with my bank and apparently the company disputed this and won! THEY WON MY CHARGEBACK CLAIM. It seems as long as they post their terms and conditions and can show that the cream was delivered then they can win chargebacks.

So after two months of thinking I got my money back I found out the company fought my chargeback and won. When I contacted my bank again they said there was nothing they could do and I need to try to resolve it with the company directly since I lost my chargeback claim.

I called a few weeks ago during the night around 3 am and spoke to the lady that handles the chargeback disputes directly. Her name is Tefany or something like that (so0rry I forgot). Anyways I explained the situation and that I filed a chargeback and lost. She was very informative.

Chargebacks do not mean I get my money back! It only means that then bank will take the money away from them and put it into my account but the company and dispute my claim. It seems they win a lot of these disputes.

Bottom line: After 2.5 months of trying chargebacks, loosing.. I spoke with this chargeback manager and she gave me every cent back.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Chargebacks explained:
So after I filed my chargeback and saw the money in my account I assumed it was over. My bank told me the following:

Chargebacks does not mean I instantly win. As long as the company can show that I received their product and did not return it then they can win any disputes. Also they have a lot of time to dispute chagrebacks as well.

So if you thinking doing a chargeback is a guarantee you are wrong! Yeah I was shocked two!

Do yourself a favor and call the company - work it out. If you get someone who wont help you then call back later on.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sorry I forgot my details:

January - Signed up for trial
    February - was charged 96.35
February - Filed a chargeback and got my money back
March - The company disputed my chargeback and all that money was removed from my account without any notice from my bank. Even after I changed accounts! They won the chargeback claim

I learned a valueable lesson about chargebacks. That they dont mean crap cause the companies can still get my money taken from me! My bank also told me that when the company wins a chargeback that the matter is closed as far as they are concerned. There was no other option left for me.

Is that true? Has anyone else experienced this?

  34. I am resident in Italy. Was in Uk for 2 months in december-january. Saw advertisement on Facebook about very good anti-aging skin products, with samples sent free only paying postage. Asked for samples and my card was charged £9.95 (not sure of the amount, I do not have my bank statement here). Never received one, nor received any confirmation of order or anything else. A few days later my card was charged £96.35, and immediately I sent an email asking them to stop. This charge was applied again in February, March and April (sometime in name of Anti Aging Store, some time in name of Purcollagen, or Purecollagen, for a total of 385.4 GB pounds, which I do not know how much is in US dollars but surely more than $400). In the meantime I got no answer from these people, and a lady staying at my former address in the UK received 2 small envelopes sent to me, containing a supposed "pure collagen" serum in form of a small dispenser which does not even work after the first 3-4 times you have used. I tried to annull the order on-line but it was not possible as there was no order in my name. I had no way to call them on the phone as the phone given can be contacted only from the USA. I asked my bank to stop these payments, but they still are going on. This people operate a very dirty business, and a lot of people get frauded. They should be closed, and not allowed to advertise on Facebook.

  36. I'm yet another 'web savvy' person caught out by this free trial scam. It was advertised on Amazon around Christmas and I thought I'd get the free trial as a present. It didn't turn up and like everyone else I was charged circa £100 for nothing. I requested a refund and they said the only way to get 100% refund was for them to send a product to me which I then had to return with a reference number. Ludicrous I know but I duly followed the isntructions as quickly as I could and now they are claiming I fell outwith a 30 day returns period or something. This is not the case as I have all the tracking numbers. They are clearly unethical liars and cheats and are just ripping people off. How can they dispute a refund when they failed to send the original product..?! I'll be doing what I can to aid their demise..

  37. Has there been any more recent news about this scam?

I just stumbled across this website as my work colleague has just been duped by these people also, and I'm trying to find out for her how she can go about getting her money back and also cancelling it as they keep taking more and more money from her account - anyone who can help please do!!

  38. unfortunately if you dont state that you will not purchase any product unless you order it you will get these cowboys who think they can automatically take money out of your visa acct once a month. If you cancel your visa at the bank then they cannot take any money out of your account any longer problem solved....no money no product... by the way they are not the only company that does this nearly all companys that have products to sell do the same thing.... I have used this company for a couple of years and love their products and I made sure that I told them I would only be a casual orderer so no order no money ....p.s it pays to change visa or master cards once every couple of months with your bank any way just in case you get dodgy people out there who think they can abuse it especially if you keep buying products...

  41. From Australia, I sent for a free trial sample of Pure Collagen, gave my account details and was debited an amount of Aus $8.63 and received the product. Two weeks later an amount of Aus $143.08 was debited from my account. I was not aware that I had placed any sort of order other than sending for the free trial, none the less I immediately cancelled any orders online. I did not recieve any product and my financial institution disputed the debit. The money was returned to my account. Three months later Aus $152.16 was debited from my account and an email concerning the dispute sent to my financial institution. This indicated that the product was sent and I did not return it. I do not live in a town or village and have to pick up parcels from my nearest post office which I have to sign for. I checked with Australia Post and their record book shows that I have only signed for one parcel in this period of time. I am still awaiting the outcome of this dispute.
